Hello! For those who celebrated Easter yesterday, I hope it was a nice holiday for you and yours. And if yesterday's holiday dinner leaves you with the prospects of ham sandwiches today, I offer up the following recipe, courtesy of Margaux Sky's Beautiful Breads & Fabulous Fillings:
Sweet Horseradish Sauce
2 cups mayonnaise (I use reduced fat)
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon lemon pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together. Serve with sandwiches. Store any extra sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Note: Since I'm the only one in my household who likes this sauce, I make 1/2 recipe at a time. Although in the cookbook it's served with a roast beef sandwich, I think it's good with other meats as well - besides ham, I've also used it with turkey sandwiches.
Of course, you have to be a horseradish lover in order to love this recipe, but since I am, it's my go-to condiment for sandwiches.
Bob loves horseradish, so I just might have to make this. I like it too, but not as much as he does.
ReplyDeleteSince he loves horseradish, I think he'll love this!
ReplyDeleteI told him about it. I'll print it off now and perhaps make it for use this week. We have been looking for some new recipes. Even though this isn't a whole recipe, it just might give an old sandwich a fresh kick.
DeleteSince we just had our own Easter dinner on Sunday, we now have leftovers. I used some of this sauce on my ham and Swiss sandwich at lunch - awesome!
